ICAS is accepting nominations for the 2019 ICAS Sword of Excellence, Art Scholl Memorial Showmanship Award and the Dick Schram Memorial Community Relations Award.
Since 1981, the ICAS Sword of Excellence has been presented each year to recognize outstanding service or personal contributions to the air show industry. Past recipients include Paul Poberezny, Charlie Hillard, Bob Hoover, Leo Loudenslager and Bill Bordeleau. The award is widely considered to be the air show community’s most prestigious honor. The nomination deadline for the Sword of Excellence is Friday, August 31.
The Art Scholl Memorial Showmanship Award is presented annually to an air show act or performer who best exemplifies the qualities of showmanship demonstrated by Art Scholl. Past recipients include Jimmy Franklin, John Mohr, Bob Hoover, the French Connection and Danny Clisham. The application deadline for the Scholl Award is Friday, August 31.
The Dick Schram Memorial Community Relations Award is presented each year to the military base which, in planning and implementing its air show, not only exhibits traditional community relations but sets new standards of excellence in this area by its community involvement. The application deadline for the Schram Award is Tuesday, November 12.

The recipients will be announced and receive their awards at the 2019 ICAS Convention’s annual Chairman’s Banquet on Thursday, December 12.
