Gilbert Buekenberghs, founder of the Sanicole Airshow in Belgium and Chairman of the European Airshow Council, was one of two air show professionals to receive last week’s prestigous ICAS Sword of Excellence – ICAS’s highest honor to an air show professional for outstanding service and personal contribution to the air show industry.
Not only did Buekenberghs transform the Sanicole Airshow into an internationally recognized show, but he has been instrumental in establishing the European Airshow Council and professionalizing the air show industry across Europe and North Africa.
Buekenberghs is the first European to win the ICAS Sword of Excellence.
