On January 19, air show legend and acclaimed announcer Danny Clisham was recognized as the latest Living Legends of Aviation honoree at the annual Living Legends of Aviation ceremony at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The event was hosted by actor John Travolta and emceed by Clisham.
Famous for his energetic and knowledgeable air show commentary, Clisham joins a star-studded list of past Living Legends of Aviation recipients. Past honorees have included pilot R.A. Bob Hoover, actor and pilot Harrison Ford, and ICAS member Sean D. Tucker.
In addition to being recognized as a Living Legend of Aviation, Clisham was also recently named an Honorary Golden Knight by the U.S. Army Parachute Team Golden Knights and the Golden Knights Alumni Association. The title was bestowed on December 16 at the 2017 Golden Knights Reunion in Fayetteville, North Carolina.
“The Golden Knights and I have had the opportunity to work together throughout my entire career,” Clisham said. “We have had the chance to not only work together professionally, but I’ve been able to socialize with them and had the chance to get to know these team members.”
During the reunion, the team conducted a formal knighting ritual to present Clisham with the award. Being knighted as an Honorary Golden Knight is the highest honor that can be bestowed to non-team members.
