Due to extreme flooding in Jefferson City, this weekend’s Salute to Veterans Airshow announced that it has officially canceled both Saturday and Sunday shows. Other surrounding air show events such as the Old Soldier’s Show, Media Day and the Saturday Honored Guest Banquet have also been canceled. The city parade scheduled for Monday is still on until further notice.
The Salute to Veterans Airshow is the second air show of the year to cancel after disastrous flooding in the area. The 2019 Defenders of Freedom Air Show at Offutt Air Force Base was canceled in mid-March due to disastrous flooding affecting the airport and submerging the base.
